Born in Yuma, Arizona, Mike began playing the trumpet at the age of 10. In high school he started playing jazz, got serious about improvising and switched over to guitar as his main instrument. Mike graduated with a Jazz Performance/Music Education Bachelor's degree from ASU where he studied with Chuck Marohnic and Chris Champion. He has played on several radio jingles, performed several concerts with the Phoenix Symphony and played for more than a dozen national touring Broadway shows including The Lion King, Chicago and High School Musical. He has backed several national acts including Il Divo, Jackie Evancho, Don Rickles and Rich Little. Mike has been a guitar clinician for AAJE and has served as an adjudicator for AMEA. He also has 7 years of experience as a band director and guitar teacher in the public school system. Mike is also the jazz guitar teacher at Phoenix College.
Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02, NSAA High School and Middle School hereby states that all notices of the meetings of NSAA High School and Middle School will be posted on the bulletin board in the main building of the school for announcements and on our website calendar. The location is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Such notices will indicate the date, time, and place of the meeting and will include an agenda or information concerning the manner in which the public may obtain an agenda for the meeting
